Our services

What fire watch covers

Fire alarm impairment

When a fire alarm panel or detection system is out of service, a fire watch keeps the building covered until it is restored and signed back off.

Sprinkler system outages

Planned or emergency sprinkler shutdowns leave the building without suppression. Guards patrol the affected areas on a set interval until the system is live again.

Hot work fire watch

Welding, cutting, grinding and roofing work require monitoring during the job and for a period afterwards, with the area checked for smouldering before the guard stands down.

Construction & renovation

Active sites with incomplete or disabled fire protection, including buildings under renovation where systems are staged back in.

Documented patrol rounds

Each round is recorded with the time and the areas covered, so you have a written record for your insurer, your fire authority and your own file.

Immediate escalation

Guards carry clear escalation instructions for your site: who to call first, when to pull the alarm, and when to contact Surrey Fire Service.

Getting started

How it works

01

Tell us what is impaired

Call the 24/7 line with the building, the system that is down, and the areas affected. A real person answers, not a call centre.

02

Guard assigned and briefed

We confirm the patrol interval, the route, and the escalation contacts for your site before the guard starts.

03

Patrol rounds begin

The guard walks the agreed route on schedule, checking exits, mechanical spaces and the impaired zones, and logging each round.

04

Written record on stand-down

When the system is restored, you receive the log of every round covering the impairment period.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is a fire watch required?

A fire watch is generally required whenever a building’s fire protection system is impaired or out of service, including alarm panel faults, detection outages and planned or emergency sprinkler shutdowns. Your local fire authority or insurer sets the exact requirement for your building, and we work to that.

Call our 24/7 dispatch line and we will confirm availability on the spot. Because guards and vehicles are positioned locally in Surrey rather than dispatched from another city, we can usually mobilise quickly, and we will tell you honestly if we cannot.

The interval is set by your fire authority, your insurer or your own risk assessment. We agree it with you before the watch begins and hold to it, logging each round so the interval can be verified afterwards.

A time-stamped log of every round covering the impairment period, including the areas checked and anything found. That record is what your insurer or fire authority will usually ask for.

Yes. We provide fire watch for welding, cutting, grinding and roofing operations, and for construction or renovation sites where fire protection is incomplete or temporarily disabled.
